We run 15 trucks in the Southeast and occasionaly the GPS will drop or trip data stops syncing mid-haul, creating confusing logs and extra paperwork; support fixed some of these but response times were uneven. I'm torn - it gets the job done most days and drivers tolerate it, but loseing minutes and hours before a roadside check is nerve-wracking and makes me question long-route reliability.
didn't skip a beat during our worst storm season - the dispatch board stayed live when other tools choked. The thing that actually made me happy was the auto-invoice settlement: once a run clears the invoice is created and noticably accurate, which cut our back-office time. Only gripe is the mobile app lag on older phones, but for uptime and getting loads out on time TruckMate performed very well.
Fifteen trucks, five years managing regional runs in the Southeast - getting McLeod off the ground was a mixed bag. The installation and data migration took weeks, configs were deep and abstract, and our old load templates didn't map cleanly; the training rep was patient but not always availble, so the early days were frustrating and we lost crew time. Once we pushed through the initial hump the dispatch UI became useful and reporting helped tidy up settlements, but I'm still torn because the upfront time sink felt heavy for a 15-truck shop.
On day two of go-live a bad mapping caused all delivered statuses to read as "en route" for four hours and that single incident set a rough tone. The onborading felt drawn-out and the documenation was sparse, so getting our 15-truck Southeast fleet configured took longer than promised despite patient consultants; it works once set up, but getting there is painful. I'm torn - the platform can handle dispatch and settlements adequately, yet the initial ramp cost us time and patience and left lingering doubts.
Bottom line: Not worth the price - we paid a hefty subscription and onboarding fee and got little back. The AI "digital workers" issued false reroutes and failed to catch real delays, forcing expedited shipments that cost us several thousand dollars in detention and extra fuel for my 15-truck operation; support was slow and the touted prevention never materialized, definitly a wasted budget. I am left frustrated and regret the decision.
Last Tuesday a scheduled pickup disappeared from project44's live map an hour before arrival and the ETA froze while the receiver charged us a detetion fee. I manage 15 trucks in the Southeast and after five years of juggling tight lanes, the stale location data and missed alerts cost us a same-day window and one important account. Support was slow to respond and the systen's unrealiable updates make it risky to depend on for time-critical moves.
Yesterday morning a pickup confirmation from one of our drivers failed to sync and the Magaya mobile app showed "queued" for over three hours. I'm a fleet manager overseeing 15 trucks in the Southeast and because the app wouldn't upload the POD or recipt photos we missed a window, rerouted a load, and incurred two detention days - roughly $750 in avoidable charges. The desktop side eventually had the info but the mobile client is unreliable, crashes ofetn, and defeats the whole point of avoiding double entry when drivers can't trust it in the yard.
On Tuesday a cross-border load disappearred from the active manifest while it sat in customs and CargoWise would not reload the file for over four hours despite repeated attempts. I manage a 15-truck fleet in the Southeast and that outage cost us hundreds in detention fees and a lost contract because brokers couldn't see or confirm the booking; support respone was slow and unhelpful. Reliability matters - the platform failed when we needed it most and that is unforgiveable.
I've used it for five years, mainly the mobile app while on route. The thing that actually makes my day easier is the photo-based proof-of-delivery that geotags and queues uploads when signal is poor - with our 15-truck operation the automatic offline sync means drivers dont have to call dispatch to confirm drops, which cut down on back-and-forth and paperwork in ways I didnt expect. The app can be laggy on older phones and sometimes reconects slowly after losing signal, so it's not perfect.
…the ETA module kept drifting by hours on busy days, not minutes. We lost two time-sensitive contracts and paid detention fees because dispatchers routed trucks on those false ETAs; fixing routes required manual overrides that nulled the whole point of an "intelligent" engine and cost us roughly $1,400 in fines and extra fuel. With our 15 trucks and five years running regional lanes in the Southeast, I'm left frustrated - nice idea, poor exection; the reassignements lag and the system doesn't learn from repeated errors, so it's more headache than help.
