I've used Coupa for about 2 years. When a Midwest winter storm messed with a key supplier last December the platform's alerts actually fired and we rerouted orders before stock hit zero - saved us a decent chunk of cash. Not perfect (UI can be slow sometimes) but the visiblity and alerts work when it counts, so I'm happy with that.

After a couple of repsonse emails and a long callback (I’ve run my own trucks in the Midwest for 12 years) a different tech actually dug through the sim/profile settings and fixed the outage, but it took two days and cost me a delivery delay. The platform itself gives decent tracking and condition reads when it’s working, yet the support can be hit-or-miss - helpful some times, maddeningly slow others, so i'm left kinda torn.
12 years on the road in the Midwest, I switched from FleetMate to Wialon last season and I'm still mixed on it. The live maps are noticeably better - tracks are tighter and trip histories actually make sense compared to my old unit, so I rely on the location data more; but the web UI is clunky, reports are slow and the mobile app frezes a few times a week. Worth it? Kinda - more accurate tracking but more headaches with sensor setings and slower support, so i'm stuck at 3 stars for now.
...that pre-built connector that dumps carrier tracking right into my TMS is the whole reason I switched - no more copy-paste into excel every night. I was doing the old phone-and-spreadsheet dance for years and this just quietly fixed that headache, saved me a ton of time. Cant believe I waited so long, definatly 5/5.
ran out of options when a supplier missed a cutoff; StarBriges jumped on it and their live tracking plus a driver who actually answered his phone got my pallet to the hospital lab before noon. Me, a Midwest owner-operator with 12 years under my belt, I don't get impressed easy that night I was, tho the online booking portal hiccuped a bit. Price was a touch higher than I like, so 4/5, but they saved the contract so can't complain.
Our customer changed the delivery address while the freight was already moving. Not another building in the same industrial park either. Completely different location. I sent the new info over expecting a mess. Vic's worked it out with the driver, gave me the revised ETA and that was pretty much it.
Bottom line: Coyote saved me a payday. Truck blew a turbo outside Des Moines and I figured I'd sit empty for days, but they found a last-minute backhaul in under an hour so I didn't deadhead home; that one move kept my week intact. I'm an owner-operator (12 yrs, Midwest) and i'm picky - the rep actually called, walked me thru the weird paperwork, and the pay showed up quick, recieved deposit same week. Not perfect always, but that call saved me.
Hated how long it took to get set up - felt like pulling teeth. Midwest owner-operator, 12 years in, and their onboardin was a mess: three different forms, a rep who kept disappearin, and it cost me two detntion fees when a temp load sat waiting. Bad first impression, that start cost me money and patience.
Sign-up was pretty painless, but getting paid and setting up driver pay was a different story - I'm kinda torn. Their onboardng portal took my COIs fine and the account rep was actually helpful on calls, yet the portal kept timing out on hazmat docs and invoices sat longer than they should while the pay-clearing dragged on; I've been running my own truck for 12 years in the Midwest so I know the drill and this felt half slick, half messy. If you need to roll yesterday you can get on board fast, but don't expect smooth cashflow right away.
Bottom line: Saddle Creek's mobile app actually makes mornings way less painful. The offline barcode scanner was the thing that sold me - in our metal warehouse with spotty cell the scans queue up and sync as soon as a truck hits the lot, and after 12 years running my own shop that's the feature that cut pick-errors down big time. App ain't perfect (occasional hiccup on dock transfers) but notifs come fast and it rarely lags even on my ancint phone, so day-to-day it's been great.
Got set up way quicker than I figured - their onboarding rep handled EDI and the portal login for our TMS so I didn't have to fight spreadsheets. Paperwork usually kills me after a dozen years on the road in the Midwest, but this time the onboading was actually painless, only snag was a delivery-window mixup the first week. What really made me happy was the rep answering texts late and sorting it fast, felt like someone actually had my back.
