...so the trailer hit 45°F in the middle of the night and Scotlynn's dispatch line was crickets. We lost a full load of berries - about $6k down the drain and a very unhappy receiver; I'm only a year in running 30 trucks on the West Coast and that cold-chain failure was brutal. Their temperature-monitoring system might exist, but alerts without live backup are pointless; won't be routing produce through them again.

I've used Capstone for about a year. They quoted reasonable rates up front but then piled on fuel surcharges and detention fees that routinely doubled what we budgeted - I'm a dispatcher with 30 trucks on the West Coast and those surprise costs crushed our margins. Not worth the headache or the price; felt like we were paying for chaos.

They rerouted a load at 6pm on Friday and the tracking still showed "in transit" at 9am Saturday - no call, no ETA, just silence until I got a $420 detention notice. My previous forwarder would have pinged me, cleared customs and kept the driver moving; with KLN I burned two driver hours and a day of missed pickups because I was waiting on information that never came. For a company known for Asia–U.S. lanes, their U.S. communication and responsiveness didn't come close to what I was used to.

Tried onboarding Forward Air for a tight West Coast contract with my 30-truck fleet - been running the route for about a year, so I expected a quick setup. Instead it was a nightmare: their portal wouldn't validate our MC number, terminal hours sales quoted didn’t match reality, and two drivers sat idle for eight hours while they “recreated” paperwork - cost me roughly $350 in wasted driver pay and a chargeback from the retailer. Support bounced us around and the promised onboarding rep never showed up; good idea on paper but not worth the startup headaches, so two stars.

Yesterday one of our drivers missed a timed appointment because the Werner Logistics app crashed right as he tried to check in - no save, no retry, just a frozen screen. Dispatching for 30 trucks on the West Coast, I wasted an hour re-entering stops and calling the broker while detention fees racked up; the live-tracking lags so badly the ETAs might as well be guesses. For day-to-day use it's unreliable and bluntly expensive - that single app failure cost us a customer and a couple hundred bucks.

Bottom line: Maersk’s live-tracking is night-and-day better than the carrier I used before. After a year running a 30-truck dispatch on the West Coast, the one thing that made me happy was finally having minute-by-minute locations and clear ETAs - no more guessing or constant driver calls. Rates are a touch higher, so it’s a 4/5 from me, but those fewer frantic afternoons are worth it.

Reliability was hit-or-miss. One week their platform and an owner-operator bailed me out with spot-on tracking and a last-minute reroute to hit a tight Chino delivery, the next week the carrier assigned went dark and I spent hours firefighting with shippers. I manage 30 trucks on the West Coast, so when they work it's great, but those ghosted loads make me uneasy.

The first morning their onboarding rep showed up at 5:30 and stayed through two driver briefings - that kind of hands-on start actually calmed the chaos. Getting going wasn't totally painless; rate confirmations and insurance uploads took longer than I expected, but once the TMS linked to our systems we had lanes moving within a week. Managing 30 trucks on the West Coast with only a year in the seat, that real-person help is what made me decide to keep working with them.

Yesterday a pickup disappeared from the app five minutes before my driver pulled up, and the terminal showed no updates. I dispatch about 30 trucks on the West Coast and in my first year I’ve noticed the app can really speed things up - the live map and quick load notes cut down calls - but push ETAs and status updates lag or fail to sync with the desktop at the worst moments. Honestly torn: it saves me time half the week and creates extra work the rest of the time.

I've been using WWEX for about a year. Pretty often, pickups ran late or carriers got swapped with zero heads-up; their tracking would sit at "in transit" for days while my customers called and I scrambled to rebook - cost me overtime and one account. Their tech looks fine on paper, but when you need something reliable for tight West Coast lanes and a 30-truck fleet, it just didn't deliver.

Bottom line: not worth the money - overpriced and under-delivered. Their rates looked fine at first, but between surprise fees and slow pay we lost roughly 10–15% margin on multiple lanes and it cost me about $3k last month. For a dispatcher juggling 30 trucks on the West Coast, the flashy tools didn’t put cash in my pocket - just extra headaches and tighter margins.
