Bottom line: Transport Pro's mobile app actually gets the job done on the road - quick POD uplods and the dispatch screen is stupid simple, which saved me a bunch of time. I run solo in the Midwest and after 12 years I appreciate not having to fiddle with a dozen menus; snap a POD, hit complete, done. Only gripe is it's a little laggy on older phones and the map can take a sec to refresh, but a solid 4/5 for daily use.

...that workflow rules thing is gold - set it once and ProTransport auto-assigns loads to me based on lane, trailer type and my prefered hours. I run a single truck in the Midwest and it cut the time I spend on dispatch notes from 20 min to like 5, no joke; tiny learning curve but worth it. Little quirk - the save button hid on me once and i panicked, but otherwise its been a huge time-saver.
Mid-run the mobile app froze on me and wouldn't refresh the load screen, left me scrambling to call dispatch - annoying. I've run trucks 12 years outta the Midwest and when it works it's great for quick mileage logs and snapping a pic of a docuemnt, but the GPS tracking gets laggy and push alerts dont hit in real time. Torn about it; saves me time sometimes but other runs it's more trouble than it's worth.
12 years on the road out of the Midwest, owner-operator. The ITS Dispatch mobile app is quik for checking loads and firing off invoics, which actually saves me a ton of paper time, but editing trips is clunky and the GPS will jump so you end up reopening screens more than you should. I'm torn - it's handy enough that I keep it on my phone, but the occasional slow syncs and crashes make me nervous to run everything off the app on longer hauls.

I edited the load in Axon and watched the billing and driver-pay recalc in seconds, which stopped a nasti invoicing fight before it started and saved me a pile of back-and-forth emails. Not perfect (reports lag if your signal is crap), but that auto-update behavior is worth a lot, so 4/5.

I've used PeopleNet for about three years. After 12 years running solo in the Midwest and switching off a cheap tablet setup, the one thing that really made me happy was the in-cab messaging - it's reliabel and actually gets through when I'm parked in a yard with spotty service, unlike my old system. HOS tracking is cleaner than before; still a few hiccups now and then but it keeps me legal and sane, tho the menus could be less clunky.
...so when I needed a last-minute reroute at 2 a.m., TruckMate actually pushed the new stop to the driver app and the gps updated almost instantly - saved me a deadhead and a headache. What made me happy was that dispatch stuff stuck around and showed status changes instead of vanishing into some void like my old system, had one hiccup in a storm but defnitely reliable when it counted. Been running trucks in the Midwest for years, gives it 4/5 from me.

Switched from juggling Excel sheets and late-night phone calls to Dossier, and the maintenance reminders with real-time asset visibility are night-and-day - it caught a pending brake issue I would've missed and saved me aweek off the road and a big bill. Interface ain't fancy but the one thing I care about (knowing what's actually on the truck and when it'll break) finally works, so my uptime and shop costs have fallen, im happy.
On my first day trying to load our rate sheet I uploaded the wrong CSV and the system flat out refused to save - I was about to swear off it right then. Support did a quick screen-share, toggled an 'auto-map' box and it matched our columns in under ten minutes, which saved me freakin hours and I was realy impressed. Not everything is perfect - some menus felt a bit wonky - but for getting started it was way easier than I expected after 12 years on the road.
