But with 50 trucks and nearly two decades in fleet work, the per-driver licenses plus onboarding fees and an opaque data-export surcharge made it hard to justify compared to cheaper options that do 80% of the same work. We did see fewer paper claims and a modest drop in admin hours after three months, so there is value - just not enough to cover the recurring costs quickly. I gave it a 3 because the tech works, but unless they change pricing for mid-size carriers or spell out all the extras, it wasn’t fully worth the money for our operation.

I've been using Routific for about eight months. Getting started was surprisingly straightforward - the CSV importer handled our messy address database better than I dared hope, and within a couple of hours I had optimized routes to test. With 50 trucks that single feature saved our dispatchers days of manual work. The driver app setup caused a few hiccups (phones needed extra permissions and one older handset wouldn't update), so plan on a learning day with the crew. All in all four stars: fast, effective onboarding for route creation, just a bit of fiddling on the mobile side kept it from perfect.
Bottom line: the proof-of-delivery capture is excellent for photos and signatures, but the syncing and timestamp behavior has cost us time and money. The photo quality and signature capture are clean - drivers can add notes and images that actually prove condition on arrival - and when an upload makes it through, it looks professional. The problem is intermittent: in the Northeast our guys lose LTE in neighborhoods and the app queues uploads, then PODs appear on the dashboard hours later with timestamps that don’t match our TMS; that mismatch has led to customer disputes and delayed invoicing. I run a 50-truck operation and have 18 years in this business, so little things like accurate timestamps matter more than pretty pictures. We’ll keep using HelloTracks because the capture itself is useful, but until they sort the upload/timestamp reliability this is a three-star tool for us.

But when things get hectic - bad traffic or a flurry of same-day add-ons - the ETA updates lag or the app will crash on the driver screen, and that unpredictability becomes a real headache. Real-time progress is useful when it's working; broken at the wrong moment is expensive. So I'm torn: it pays for itself on steady days, but I can't stake critical, last-minute operations on it without a backup plan.
