Jennie Crona's review of McLeod Software
Fleet manager for a 40-truck Midwest operation with two decades in the business - I've put McLeod through its paces. When it’s behaving, dispatch and tracking work well enough that drivers get timely assignments and billing lines up without much fuss; we sailed through last spring’s heavy season for weeks. Reliability, though, is hit-or-miss: we had three incidents in a year where the web portal timed out during peak reroutes - once on a Friday night in a snowstorm - and that kind of outage immediately creates a pileup of missed pickups and angry shippers. Support eventually resolves the problems, but slow ticket responses and kludgy temporary fixes mean you can’t count on instant recovery when you need it most. I’m genuinely torn - McLeod is competent and better than some older systems we’ve used, but those unpredictable failures keep me running a paper backup and unwilling to entrust it with last-minute critical decisions.
