We had a snowbound Friday where the route optimizer reshuffled a 40-stop day overnight and pushed a high-value drop to the back of the run; ETAs bounced between 9:15 and 2:30 on the customer portal and the client cancelled, while a proof-of-delivery photo got accidentally overwritten by another driver’s upload - a rare but expensive tangle. The live map and ETA pings cut down on inbound calls; at the same time the exception alerts were so noisy drivers started ignoring them until management stepped in. After 25 years running a 120-truck fleet in the Midwest I don't toss new systems aside, and when DispatchTrack behaves it really helps - but those odd edge-case failures are painful to untangle. Support fixed the POD issue and we tightened scheduling rules, so we kept using it, but now I always watch manual overrides during bad weather.
The live ETA flipping in the middle of a run drove us nuts. Last month during a Nor'easter the system re-optimized routes twice, sent new windows to customers, and three drivers ended up converging on the same cul-de-sac while another set of stops were delayed for hours - customers called, tempers flared, and we lost a big account.
