Emerald Heller's review of DispatchTrack

What I liked most was the real-time proof-of-delivery photo - it literally saved my bacon last month. A customer swore a range never arrived, so I pulled the timestamped photo and GPS ping from DispatchTrack and emailed it to their office; five minutes later the chargeback request was dropped. I run three trucks in the Midwest and have been at this 22 years, so avoiding a day of paperwork felt huge. Only gripe is route updates can be a touch slow to push to the driver app sometimes.

Bottom line: 3/5 - DispatchTrack gives useful live visibility, but one holiday week it nearly cost us a big retail account. We had a snowbound Friday where the route optimizer reshuffled a 40-stop day overnight and pushed a high-value drop to the back of the run; ETAs bounced between 9:15 and 2:30 on the customer portal and the client cancelled, while a proof-of-delivery photo got accidentally overwritten by another driver’s upload - a rare but expensive tangle. The live map and ETA pings cut down on inbound calls; at the same time the exception alerts were so noisy drivers started ignoring them until management stepped in. After 25 years running a 120-truck fleet in the Midwest I don't toss new systems aside, and when DispatchTrack behaves it really helps - but those odd edge-case failures are painful to untangle. Support fixed the POD issue and we tightened scheduling rules, so we kept using it, but now I always watch manual overrides during bad weather.

The live ETA flipping in the middle of a run drove us nuts. Last month during a Nor'easter the system re-optimized routes twice, sent new windows to customers, and three drivers ended up converging on the same cul-de-sac while another set of stops were delayed for hours - customers called, tempers flared, and we lost a big account. On the plus side the POD photos and timestamped exceptions proved invaluable when we had to prove who left what at which door; that single feature saved us from a chargeback. We're a 50-truck fleet in the Northeast with 18 years of storms and late nights behind us, so I value predictability, and DispatchTrack can be steady when signals are good but maddening when the mobile clients hiccup. Three stars - useful for proof and live visibility, but the routing and reassign logic needs to behave better under real-world mess.
