Abigayle Runolfsdottir's review of Redwood Logistics

…so much for 'real-time' updates. We booked a cross-state load in RedwoodConnect a week ahead and the carrier assignment vanished two hours before pickup. With 55 trucks in the Southeast, dispatch had to scramble, we absorbed a reconsignment fee and a missed retailer window led to a chargeback - two drivers sat idle while customers fumed. Their support eventually sent explanations, but that did not cover the costs; not reliable when it mattered.

I've been using Redwood Logistics for three years. They aren't the cheapest broker, but for us the extra fees paid off because their billing accuracy and monthly audits caught repeated fuel-surcharge and accessorial mistakes my team used to chase for weeks. With about 100 trucks around the Pacific Northwest those recoveries added up - several thousand dollars in the first year alone, which mattered more than saving a few cents per mile. The platform isn't perfect and the pricing tiers took a while to untangle, but one steady account rep who actually knows our lanes made a real difference. If your margins are tight and you want fewer billing headaches, that single thing can make the price worthwhile.

Bottom line: Getting started with Redwood Logistics was mostly painless and worth the effort. Their onboarding specialist did the heavy lifting - they mapped our carrier IDs and pulled in the last six months of rates so I didn't have to hand-match dozens of lane codes for a fifty-truck fleet, which saved real time. There was a snag with EDI mapping that cost an extra week; the portal is powerful but has quirks. Now that RedwoodConnect is talking to our dispatch system, day-to-day runs smoother and the human rep still answers the phone when the tech stalls. I'm comfortable giving them a solid 4/5.

On day one the RedwoodConnect sign-up gave me two different usernames and the password reset link failed during our morning pickups, leaving two trucks parked for three hours. Their onboarding team didn't respond for most of the day and when they finally did it was canned instructions that didn't match our carriers; I dispatch about 30 trucks on the West Coast and that downtime cost us fuel and a detention fee. Getting started felt like pushing a boulder uphill - too many clicks, wrong info, and no real help when it mattered.
