Orval Fisher's review of LoadPilot

Bottom line: LoadPilot is a clear upgrade from the spreadsheet-and-text-message chaos I used before - it gets the basics right without puffing up with junk. The feature that actually made my life easier was the missing-docs alert; I used to spend an hour a day chasing BOLs and now it flags the problem as soon as the load’s created. Out here in the Midwest the simpler carrier assignment screen is nice, but those alerts are the real time-saver.

Push alerts on the mobile app actually cut our inbound phone traffic in half - that immediate carrier confirmation is the single feature I keep coming back to. The app makes it ridiculously quick to capture POD photos and mark milestones on the move; drivers tap a couple buttons and dispatch can see status without chasing. Running an 85-truck fleet in the Pacific Northwest, that drop in back-and-forth saves real time and headaches during tight pickup windows. It isn't flawless - every few days photos take a while to upload and GPS can lag in thick timber country - but those hiccups are rare enough that they don't derail the day. For smaller brokerages that want a simple, dependable mobile tool to execute loads, LoadPilot gets most of it right.

Yesterday a driver snapped a photo of a shredded pallet and the app had the timestamped pic, GPS pin and carrier note attached to the load before I finished my coffee. That instant upload and push alert saved us from a week-long billing fight - works great for my West Coast brokerage of roughly eighty trucks, though the app can be a bit clunky when jumping between loads.

The first time we tried to import our carrier list, LoadPilot duplicated half the entries and then locked the upload screen until we cancelled the whole job. Getting started felt like wading through a help article maze - CSV field mapping is maddeningly opaque and the system kept auto-matching fields wrong, which overwrote hours of manual cleanup. Support eventually responded, but not before two full days of admin time and a missed billing cycle that triggered late fees on a couple loads. I'm a fleet manager running about fifty trucks in the Northeast, and I expected a much smoother onboarding for a product pitched at small brokers. The basic features are there, but the painful startup cost left me skeptical about sticking with LoadPilot.
