Owner-operator, 12 years in the Midwest, been running Aljex about 9 months. Price is the real hangup - license + support + add-ons stack up quick and for a solo guy the ROI's murky; carrier tendering works and saves me a bit of time but not enough to justify the monthly burn. Kinda torn: if you have a bigger shop it prob pays off, for me it's definately mixed and I'm still shopping for somethin cheaper that covers the basics.
…and yet the switch to Aljex wasn't straightforward. Tendering and load-board integration are noticeably better than our old TMS - carriers reply quicker and dispatchers picked it up fast after 11 years running about 60 trucks in the Southeast, so that part felt like a real win. But billing and invoice reconciliation still demand too much manual cleanup and the reporting customization is clumsy, so I'm honestly torn: useful for day-to-day ops, frustrating for month-end.
Used Aljex for two years and it blew away the clunky system I had before - instead of hunting down carriers with phone tag and spreadsheets I can tender loads to multiple carriers and see replis in one screen, saved me hours a week.
