Larissa Lemke's review of Ninja Dispatch

We had a late-night breakdown in a storm and needed to reassign three loads in under 20 minutes - Ninja Dispatch didn't skip a beat and had the new routes pushed to drivers before the second cup of coffee. I've run a 50-truck fleet in the Northeast for 18 years, so uptime and clear driver status are things I won't shrug off. What made me happiest was the live ETA and driver location updates; seeing those change in real time meant dispatchers could stop calling and actually move loads. My only gripe is the analytics page gets sluggish during peak hours and the mobile app will sometimes log you out unexpectedly. Still, after a few months it's the system we trust when things go sideways - reliable when it mattered most.

I've used Ninja Dispatch for about a year. The mobile app is handy for sending instructions and getting status updates - after nine years running routes in the Southeast and juggling three trucks, I really appreciate that - but it can lag, drop GPS pings, and sometimes messages never push so you end up calling drivers anyway. Honestly torn: it cuts down on paperwork and keeps loads visible, yet on busy afternoons the app's quirks create more stress than it should.

Bottom line: customer support is awful - their “help” cost me a delivery and a $500 detention fee. Been hauling around the Northeast for nine years, and when the app froze and wouldn't assign a dispatcher the chat bot spat canned replies, a rep promised a callback that never happened, and we missed the pickup window. Nobody took ownership, I lost time and money, and having to untangle the mess myself was the worst part.

Bottom line: getting Ninja Dispatch set up was faster than I expected, but not completely painless - plan for a few hours of field matching. The one thing that made me genuinely happy was the CSV import with custom field mapping; I pulled in our old load file and matched driver IDs and pay fields exactly, which probably saved two full days of manual entry. Their knowledge base is useful and the live chat answered a weird mapping glitch at 10 p.m., so support wasn’t radio silence - still, some workflow labels are oddly named and required trial-and-error. With 16 years in freight and an 85-truck operation in the Pacific Northwest, I appreciated that the main dispatch board didn’t force us to change how we run loads. If your data is messy, expect to clean it first, but once that’s done the platform really speeds up day-to-day coordination.
