20 years on the West Coast behind the wheel - owner-operator life means my phone is my office. Verizon Connect's mobile app makes checking route history and seeing live locations stupid simple; maps load quick even in sketchy spots and those idle-time push alerts actually cut down how much I sit idling. Maintenance logging is buried and could be easier, but the app has definitely saved me headaches on long hauls.

The system's chronic unreliability was the single most infuriating issue. Repeated GPS dropouts and 5–20 minute location lags during peak runs meant route history and alerts were often stale or missing, so drivers missed maintenance warnings and several deliveries ran late - costing overtime, customer chargebacks and at least two avoidable repair bills. After a year running ten trucks on the West Coast we've reverted to manual check-ins because the tracking and alerts simply do not work when you need them.

Bottom line: it was rock-solid when I needed it most. Mid-January one truck died on a rural stretch during a snow squall - the live GPS and route history put the exact position in front of the tow and dispatcher so I wasn't sitting on the side of the road guessing for an hour. After 11 years running two trucks in the Northeast, the tracking and alerts have shown up every time I've needed them and cut down actual downtime.
