Pricey, but the fuel savings offset most of the monthly fees. After thirty years in the business managing 200 trucks in the Southwest, I found Onfleet’s route optimization cut empty miles and tightened ETAs enough to yield a modest single-digit reduction in fuel spend - that margin made the subscription acceptable for our scale. Smaller outfits should weigh the sticker shock against their density of local stops before committing.

Nine years driving company routes in the Northeast and I figured Onfleet would at least keep a sane eye on where we were. Instead the app froze or showed me parked in a different town during peak runs - ETAs jumped by 30–45 minutes, customers called, and I lost tips while burning extra hours fixing messes. Just not reliable when it mattered, which made busy days way worse.
