Adella Labadie's review of Savi

…thought the live map would save us the morning scramble; it didn't. On two runs last month the ETA flipped backward hours after we'd scheduled drivers, and the container sensor pings froze for nearly six hours so nothing on the dashboard was accurate. That snafu cost us about $900 in detention fees and one frantic overnight redeploy to cover a missed pickup - plus angry calls from the customer at 2 a.m. Alerts either failed to trigger or showed up after the truck was already rolling, and the platform still read ‘on schedule’ while the carrier portal said otherwise. It might have useful data when it works, but for a small Midwest fleet like mine, unreliability makes it more trouble and expense than help.

Price was the dealbreaker for me - way overpriced for what you actually get. Paid a couple hundred bucks a month and still had an ETA miss that caused a day's detention and about $450 in fees; felt like I paid to be babysat by a dashboard that lagged. I'm an owner-operator in the Northeast with 7 years under my belt and this just wasnt worth it, def a waste.

Last week my load sat at the Port of Oakland for eight hours because Savi's dashboard froze on "in transit" and never pushed the port congestion alert. By the time my dispatcher called the carrier manually we missed the appointment and ate a $420 detention fee; their "real-time" visibility felt like watching a paused video. I'm a company driver on the West Coast with three years under my belt, and that night I spent more time on the phone trying to find someone who actually knew the shipment status than I did driving. Supposed to cut down tracking work but instead I had to revert to old-school calls - gave me nothing but headaches and a dent to the paycheck.

I've used Savi for 14 months. Before Savi we tracked everything in a color-coded spreadsheet and kept two dispatchers tied to the phone; the live ETA and milestone alerts are the one thing that actually freed up their time and lets me update customers faster, though notifcations sometimes lag by a few minutes when carrier feeds hiccup. We run 15 trucks across the Southeast, and that visibility cut the number of manual callls during gates and port delays by about half - solid product, a few data feed kinks to iron out.
