Two months ago my reefer temp spiked at 2AM and Decklar pushed an alert with the exact temp jump and an updated ETA before the carrier even knew there was a problem. It actually worked when I needed it - I called, rerouted a nearby truck, and the load was saved; no midnight scavenger hunt for updates. What I liked most was the platform's reliability - its ETA predictions and alerts were accurate during a week of heavy storms. Managing a 55-truck fleet across the Southeast, I relied on a single notification to re-route a critical load and avoid a nearly two-day delay. The predictions matched reality and when an exception did occur the alerting was swift, letting my dispatchers act without hours of manual phone calls.
Bottom line: Decklar's ETA predictions are unreliable and cost me real money. I run three trucks in the Southwest with four years on the road and the ETAs kept jumping 3–6 hrs, sent false "on time" alerts so brokers rebooked loads, we got hit with detentn fees and pissed customers - wasted a week's pay, very frustrated and probably dropping it.
Bottom line: Decklar proved reliable when we needed live visibility most. During a week of severe weather in the Southwest its ETA re-forecasts were within an hour of actual arrivals far more often than not, which finally cut down the frantic carrier chasing that used to consume our dispatchers' time. Managing 250 trucks, that single improvement saved multiple staff-hours and reduced missed connections. One caveat: rail updates sometimes lagged, so it is not flawless, but for our road and ocean lanes it was ready when we were.
