Two weeks before Thanksgiving a loaded container slated for a major retailer showed up as “in transit” with no berth assignment and we were staring at a missed delivery window. Infor Nexus pushed an exception alert with an updated ETA and the carrier’s note within minutes, so I could call the terminal and reassign one of our yard trucks before anyone else panicked. I’ve been running a 150-truck fleet for 28 years in the Northeast, and few tools give time-stamped milestone updates that you can actually act on. What made me happiest was that single, accurate ETA correction - it saved us roughly two days of detention fees. It isn’t perfect (small foreign carriers still lag sometimes), but for that emergency it did exactly what I needed.
