Rico Zemlak's review of GoComet

...support was helpful but maddening. First they push you through a bot and then a human who actually knows freight - once they escalated my case my stuck van got rebooked and the ETA adjusted, so props for that; but getting to that point took 2 days and a bunch of back-and-forth, which is rough when you're trying to hit an appointment. Midway through a cross-country hop my van was stuck, and for a guy who punches miles in the Southwest slow support is a real pain, so dont expect instant answers but if they do get on it they can fix stuff.

Bottom line: the live-tracking map and ETA pings are the feature that actually made this worth using. I'm an owner-operator with seven years up in the Northeast and those realtime updates (and POD photos) cut down my check-calls big time, definatly saved me hours. Not flawless - every so often the GPS lags or a carrier forgets to update - but for the most part that tracking alone pays for itself.

Last December a sudden Snoqualmie Pass closure left one of our reefers idling and a customer breathing down my neck. GoComet’s live reroute suggestion popped up, I accepted it, and it booked an alternate lane and pushed an updated ETA to the consignee in under ten minutes - saved us a detention fee and calmed a driver who was about ready to lose it. After four years running a five-truck dispatch outfit in the Pacific Northwest, that quick automated reroute is the one feature I actually brag about to other dispatchers.

Yesterday a critical lane’s ETA jumped three times in two hours on GoComet’s live tracking and we missed a customer cutoff because dispatch relied on the latest estimate. The visibility tools themselves are detailed - map overlays, carrier notes and exception flags make issues obvious - yet the frequent, unexplained ETA shifts undermine confidence and force us to double-check manually. I run a 200-truck fleet in the Southwest with thirty years in the business, and that tension - powerful insight when correct, disruptive when not - sums up my view: promising, but not steady enough for high-stakes moves.
