Bottom line: Alliance gets freight where it needs to go most of the time - fine for routine intermodal runs but unreliable when a shipment truly must be on time. We run 100 trucks in the Northeast and after 22 years I like their tracking and temperature-controlled options, yet a string of late pickups and an unexplained customs hold on a perishable load left me torn about using them for my highest-priority work.

Alliance's "real-time" tracking is the worst - on a recent reefer run the app showed my trailer at the DC for hours while I was still two exits away, which cost me a $350 detention fee and a missed delivery window. Support sent canned responses, no ownership, and i spent the next day on hold dealing with angry calls; not worth the headache.
Bottom line: not worth the money. Their quote looked fine until surprise accessorials and a phantom fuel surcharge turned a decent lane into a loss - I operate three trucks on West Coast runs and this bled $300–400 from my margin per load.
