Emory Rolfson's review of Kenco Logistics
Last Wednesday an automated sorter at Kenco's Evergreen facility dumped three pallets bound for Seattle onto a trailer for a different customer, and nobody caught it until our driver pulled up to the dock. We spent the afternoon tracking pallets, paying two hours of detention and extra driver pay, and then took a retailer chargeback for a missed window - chaotic and expensive. I run an 85-truck fleet in the Pacific Northwest and after 16 years I expect tech hiccups, but what bothered me more was the lack of human oversight and the sluggish exception alerts from their system. Their TMS finally flagged the issue hours later when re-routing options were gone. If your operation depends on timely handoffs, Kenco’s automation without timely human checks is a liability that cost us real money and a lost customer goodwill.
