Two weeks ago an urgent three-pallet shipment had to get from Newark to a hospital in Boston overnight after a vendor missed loading. Forward Air picked it up within two hours, updated the ETA, and the driver actually called the receiving dock to hold the elevator - small detail, huge difference. I run a 50-truck fleet in the Northeast and have been in the business 18 years; I don’t see that level of follow-through very often. Tracking matched reality and the load arrived nearly two hours early. Only gripe: billing took about a week to straighten out because of vague line items, but on reliability they delivered when it counted.
