Owner-operator with two trucks and eleven years running the Northeast - tried Hub Group on a few lanes to see if their setup paid off. Base rates were decent and pay runs were predictably quick, but after fuel surcharge quirks and a couple of accessorials getting reduced, my margin shrank more than I expected. Their Hub Connect tracking is actually helpful, so I wasn’t losing time chasing info, yet the end pay made some loads barely worth the wear and tear. Mixed feelings: sometimes it balanced out, other times I chalked it up to experience and moved on.
