Last Black Friday we blew through a flash-sale and my previous 3PL mis-shipped nearly half a pallet of snow shovels - customers were calling drivers and our returns desk for two days. Running the same promo through Amazon FBA/MCF, only one order was wrong and their reimbursements and return labels were processed the same afternoon. After 18 years managing logistics for a 50-truck regional operation in the Northeast, I was skeptical that a big provider would fix the small, messy problems that cost us time. What actually made me happiest was the inventory accuracy: shrinkage and chargebacks dropped so much I could finally schedule loads without padding forecasts. No more surprise short-ship calls at midnight - that alone paid for the switch.
