Paid a pretty penny for Uber Freight TMS hoping it would shave hours off dispatch - it did sometimes, but not consistently. The link to Uber’s capacity marketplace is handy for quick spot buys and saved us on a couple of tight lanes, which helped justify part of the bill. Still, the subscription plus onboarding and integration costs felt steep; we run 50 trucks and there were months where the math just didn’t swing in our favor. The visibility is decent and execution tools work when you use the marketplace, so I can’t call it a waste - just hard to defend the price to finance when gains are intermittent. If cost sensitivity is a big factor, be prepared to haggle; otherwise it’s a useful tool that might not pay for itself fast enough for mid-market fleets like ours.
