Twenty years on the West Coast doing my own runs, I handed a late-night load to Uber Freight TMS - big mistake. Their platform auto-confirmed a carrier that never showed, flipped the status to “picked up” in the app so I stopped getting dispatch calls, and I sat at the dock three hours while my backhaul drove away. Payment then sat in their system for 35 days (no cash for fuel or repairs) and support sent boilerplate replies instead of fixing the ledger; cost me about $700 in detention and a week of income.
