I've used Truck Dispatch 360 for about a year. On the West Coast I run I-5 a lot, and the app's instant load alerts with one-tap accept are the thing that sold me - accept a load from my phone and the rate, notes and ETA sync with the driver without a dozen calls. Small feature but it cuts out so much daily hassle.

My old dispatcher would have shrugged and left me to hunt; Express called nonstop, rebooked me within an hour and even negotiated a few extra cents per mile - saved what would’ve been a deadhead. I’ve been running the West Coast three years and they’re the first dispatch team that actually moves when stuff goes sideways.
...the live feed is what sold me - three years on the West Coast taught me to hate chasing ghost loads, and Trucking42 actually refreshes listings fast enough that I stop clicking into stuff that's gone. The interface is way cleaner than the clunky board I used before, so posting availability gets me bites quicker. Big time saver.
Bottom line: the MaxTruckers app's push alerts are what keep me booking better loads. On the West Coast a decent run disappears in minutes, and getting a ping the second a matching load posts has cut my deadhead and saved fuel - seriously handy. The app could use a cleaner message thread for brokers, but the alerts alone make it worth using every day.
Used DispatchCircle for about a year and a half. Most days it looked fine on the dashboard, but when I needed to update a load status out on the road the app would freeze or the map wouldn't load - turned a simple drop into two hours of phone calls and a $180 detention fee because the receiver thought we were late. Customer support took forever and the offline mode felt like an afterthought for West Coast routes; frustrating, I'm switching back to a system that actually keeps up.
MercuryGate saved me money on one load by picking a cheaper carrier at the last minute, but that "smart" routing once pushed me under a low bridge on the I-5 and added two hours to delivery. I was sweating while the customer called - the platform's ETA and carrier notes didn't flag height restrictions, so I had to wait for a reroute and get a supervisor to sign off. Some runs it's great for finding rates; other times it feels blind to day-to-day driver realities, so I'm torn and giving it three stars.
Bottom line: setup was quicker than I expected - I was scanning BOLs and sending updates by the end of my first shift. Linking truck and driver profiles took a bit (had to track down insurance numbers), but the app’s camera upload and step-by-step prompts made the paperwork part painless. I’ve been driving on the West Coast three years and that one easy photo-upload feature saved me a ton of time, so four stars because a few backend screens still felt cluttered.
...had low expectations, but the onboarding rep actually set up our trucks and synced my ELD in one call - saved me a ton of time. Took about 20 minutes and I was seeing loads on my phone; that quick ELD hookup is what made me happy. Some of the desktop menus are a bit clunky at first, but getting started was way easier than I figured.
After three years driving routes up and down the West Coast, I leaned on Teletrac Navman during a couple of hairy nights. Its live GPS never dropped when my engine died on a remote stretch of Highway 1 - dispatch saw my exact pin and a tow arrived faster than I expected. The app can be sluggish in very weak signal, but when it mattered most it worked, so I'm giving it four stars.
Price is the main gripe - it's pretty steep for what we actually use most days. GPS and alerts work fine and the fuel reports helped on long West Coast runs, but I've been a company driver for three years and still feel like I'm paying for a lot of bells we never touch. Torn between keeping it for the few useful bits and cutting it to save cash; for a big operation it probably pays off, but for my setup the monthly bill is hard to justify.
Bottom line: GPS Insight didn't work when I needed it and it cost me a delivery. We went dark for nearly two hours mid-route - dispatcher couldn't see me, the customer called furious, and we picked up a late fee; I've been driving on the West Coast for three years, so this blackout wasn't just a hiccup. Support was slow and the unit kept flashing "no data" after multiple reboots, so I won't rely on it for tight runs.
