Zola Weber's review of Dossier Systems

Two weeks ago a software patch erased three weeks of preventive maintenance records the night before a DOT inspection, leaving us scrambling to prove service history for 60 trucks. We paid steep implementation and subscription fees - roughly $18,000 upfront and $2,200/month - and still ended up with about $11,500 in fines and emergency shop labor because critical records were inaccessible. For the money, the platform delivered more risk than relief; until reliability and billing transparency are fixed, I consider it not worth the cost.

Bottom line: worth the monthly fee for us - 4/5. The asset tracking was the thing that made me happy; it caught a trailer that kept disappearing and that visibility saved us on detention and surprise repairs, so the subscription definately paid for itself in a couple months. UI can be clunky and some reports are slow, but for the price it's worthwile if you need to keep tabs on gear.

Owner-operator out of the Midwest, 12 years on the road. Switched from juggling Excel sheets and late-night phone calls to Dossier, and the maintenance reminders with real-time asset visibility are night-and-day - it caught a pending brake issue I would've missed and saved me aweek off the road and a big bill. Interface ain't fancy but the one thing I care about (knowing what's actually on the truck and when it'll break) finally works, so my uptime and shop costs have fallen, im happy.

The mobile app's photo-based maintenance logging is what sold me. Drivers can snap a picture, jot a quick note, and it shows up on the dispatcher's queue with time and location - no paper, no 'what happened' calls the next morning. Offline mode actually works; we lose signal all the time out by the yards and the app queues everything until it's back. I've run a 20-truck fleet in the Northeast and after three years on Dossier the day-to-day friction around inspections and repairs just evaporated because the mechanic has the image and history before the truck even lands on the shop ramp. Five stars for making the mobile side feel like an extension of the shop instead of another chore.
