Adonis Kerluke's review of FourKites

I've been using FourKites for about two years. The mobile app is sometimes brilliant - live ETAs and lane-level visibility at a dock actually save frantic phone calls - but it's maddeningly inconsistent once trucks leave the city. With 75 trucks in the Pacific Northwest and eight years managing fleets, I notice the app chokes in low-signal areas, drops push notifications, and occasionally forces a full relog that eats up precious minutes during tight turnarounds. I appreciate the auto-notify when arrivals shift because it cuts down on dispatcher work; yet duplicate alerts and a sluggish map refresh often negate that advantage. Mixed bag: helpful enough that we keep it, but for driver-facing, day-to-day use it still feels half-baked in spots and needs much better offline behavior before I’d lean on it completely.

I've used FourKites for 18 months. During a blizzard last December an I-80 closure threatened three refrigerated loads bound for a grocery chain and the system's digital workers automatically rebooked two loads to nearby partner carriers while flagging one for yard hold - by noon we had alternate ETAs and the customer never called once. With 120 trucks and tight windows, that single automated reassignment saved us a missed-delivery penalty and a night of frantic phone calls. I appreciated that the digital worker didn't wait for human approval to get the job done; it simply executed the rule we had configured and followed through. After 25 years in this business, it's rare to see tech actually cut the noise instead of adding to it - this did.

First week after signing up I had a load fall behind and FourKites flagged the delay and suggested a reroute before my driver even called - saved me a late fee. Getting it live was surprisingly simple: support actually logged in, mapped our ELD and had live tracking for both trucks that afternoon, which for an owner-operator with two trucks and five years on the road felt like a real win. I took off one star because tweaking a couple notification rules took a few tries, but the hands-on onboarding is what made me happiest.

...at first the subscription looked steep, but after three months the system paid for itself by cutting detention and late fees that used to eat our margins. The one thing that made me happiest was the AI Digital Workers automatically rebooking loads and filing detention claims without my team having to chase carriers - small actions that saved us real dollars for our 55-truck fleet in the Southeast. Expensive up front, yes; worth every cent.
