Notifications arrive late and the map often takes too long to refresh, which on a tight schedule turns into extra phone calls and wasted time. Managing sixty trucks across the Southeast, I appreciate the quick load visibility when the app behaves, yet the intermittent crashes make me hesitant to lean on it for daily dispatching.
Not gonna lie, getting set up with MetroMax took more back-and-forth than I expected - the portal walk-through was fine, but verifying my DOT/MC and linking payment info dragged out a couple weeks. Once that was sorted I started getting decent Midwest loads, so I'm stuck between "worth it" and "too much hassle to switch right now."
Bottom line: MetroMax's fee structure and commission were worth it - the extra percentage they take was recouped in roughly two months once they started getting better rates on our regular lanes. I hated handing over a cut at first, but one specific thing made me happy: their negotiator consistently pushed up rates on our regional food-grade runs where my team had been leaving money on the table. I'm a Midwest fleet manager with 120 trucks and 25 years in the business, so I'm picky, and seeing per-mile revenue improve mattered more than the modest admin savings. Communication can lag on weekends, but the added margin per load makes the price reasonable.
