One night last month a reefer trailer started creeping up in temperature and the original broker went silent right before a holiday run - total panic on the driver's end. Resolute's dispatcher calmed him, found a local shop that could patch the unit, and rebooked the load with a different broker while I was juggling paperwork and fuel invoices. I handle admin for a hundred-truck operation in the Pacific Northwest and have seen a lot of empty promises, but that person stayed on the line through the whole repair and payment negotiation. The repair time was longer than anyone wanted, yet they kept the chain of custody tight and actually negotiated a slightly better rate than we expected. Small detail, but rescuing that single load without headaches made a big difference to our week and to the driver's morale.
…paid for itself in two weeks - their negotiator pulled an extra $450 on a regional reefer run, and with 25 trucks that bump covered the monthly fee and then some. Worth the cost for that one dispatcher who actually gets brokers to move.
