Morton O'Reilly's review of Descartes MacroPoint

What I like most is the mobile app's live location feed - seeing a driver's ping move on the map in real time actually cuts down the phone tag. But the app is maddeningly inconsistent: push alerts fire for the same milestone, map tiles choke on slow cell, and every few days a driver complains the GPS went to sleep and stopped reporting. It saved me a lot of calls during a chaotic week - with 20 trucks out of the Northeast I can glance at ETAs and decide whether to reshuffle loads. Battery drain is real and we've had to coach drivers to keep the app running, which undercuts some of the convenience. I'm torn: three stars because the core tracking is genuinely helpful, but the mobile reliability and notification noise make it a mixed bag for day-to-day use.
