Bottom line: Coupa felt slower and clunkier than the TMS I was using before. I run a small trucking outfit in the Pacific Northwest - two years in - and my old system gave real-time GPS updates and clear ETA pushes; Coupa’s spend-centric dashboard aggregated everything but buried the live shipment alerts, so we missed a pickup window and ate about $1,000 in detention fees. Frustrating trade-off: better spend visibility but worse logistics responsiveness, not worth the headaches for my operation.

Saved us a week and a load of headaches. Coupa flagged a supplier invoice hold that would have left a load stuck for four days, I rerouted to a local source, avoided detention fees and kept the customer happy - I'm a two-truck owner-operator in the Southwest with 14 years on the road and that single alert paid for the subscription.

I've used it for about two years. The mobile app is slow to refresh GPS and often crashes during check-ins; push alerts come minutes late or not at all, which is brutal for someone dispatching 50 trucks with 12 years' experience in the Southeast and it cost us a missed Friday-night pickup. Lost driver hours and a detention fee last month - desktop may show everything but day-to-day on the road is unreliable, so we ended up rerouting by phone and paying extra.
