Jennie Crona's review of Chain.io
We rolled Chain.io into our stack hoping to stop the daily grind of pasting tracking info between systems, and honestly it does that - when it wants to. On the better days the pre-built connectors pull carrier events into our TMS within minutes and cut down driver calls, which felt like magic after years of manual check-ins. The frustrating part is the inconsistency: roughly once a week or so a feed will stall or drop events and we have to jump on the phones to chase carriers, which defeats the whole point of automation. Support gets involved but fixes usually mean fiddling with mappings or waiting days for a proper patch. For a Midwest fleet of 40 trucks with twenty years running this operation, Chain.io is sometimes a real time-saver and sometimes just another thing to babysit - useful, but not reliably enough for live dispatch decisions.
