Larissa Lemke's review of Expeditors International
Bottom line: Expeditors is pricier than some brokers, but in my case the extra cost paid for itself. Last winter they flagged and corrected a misfiled HS code on a mid-Atlantic import that would have kicked off roughly $4k in duties and several days of detention - they sorted it same day and saved us both money and idle truck time. With 50 trucks and 18 years in the business, surprises like that are what kill margins, so paying a higher fee for solid customs work is an easy call. Their billing is clean too, no smoke-and-mirrors charges, which makes internal accounting painless.
