Adella Labadie's review of UPS Supply Chain Solutions
What I disliked most was the tracking and routing - they were noticeably worse than the regional carrier we switched from. Before we left our old 3PL we had predictable pickup windows and a dispatcher who called when a load looked tight; UPS's portal would show “in transit” for hours while trucks sat idle and exception alerts went unanswered. We run 25 trucks out of the Midwest and those missed ETAs cost us several thousand dollars in detention fees and even lost two small contracts when customers couldn't wait. Escalations seemed to vanish into canned responses about “processing delays,” and one misrouted ocean container cost extra unloading and an overnight reposition. If your operation needs tight regional reliability, their global reach felt like a step backward - slower, more opaque, and pricier for what we actually got.
