Moshe Frami's review of ShipHawk
I've been using ShipHawk for about 18 months on our fleet's mobile devices. Most days the app is a real time-saver - drivers can pull a rate, book a carrier and print a label without phoning dispatch, which for a Midwest outfit with 120 trucks cuts a lot of back-and-forth. But the mobile client can be flaky: it sometimes drops shipments from the active list and the sync will stall when coverage dips, forcing a restart or a manual reconcile. Barcode scanning is surprisingly solid in good light, though the camera focus on some older Android tablets we run is slow and wastes minutes on a busy route. I like that it trims paperwork, yet on heavy days those connectivity hiccups mean we still need someone watching the app; useful, but frustratingly inconsistent.
