Bottom line: Logistically TMS consolidates tasks I used to split between two separate systems, but it never quite matched the speed and straightforwardness of the lean dispatch app we ran before. For my ten-truck West Coast operation the built-in quoting - LTL in particular - is noticeably better and saved paperwork, yet the dispatch interface feels clunky, pages load slowly, and GPS updates are sometimes delayed. I appreciate having billing and carrier portals under one roof, but we found ourselves dropping back to the older tool for day-to-day runs until the kinks in execution tracking are ironed out.
