Larissa Lemke's review of FreightWise

I've used FreightWise for about 16 months. The feature that really caught my attention was the automated carrier tendering and rule-based auto-award - set it up once and it started routing loads to our preferred carriers and lower-cost lanes without me babysitting the process. For a fleet of 50 trucks and after 18 years in the business, the time savings were obvious: my dispatch team cut manual tendering down by roughly 10–12 hours a week and missed tenders became rare. It isn't flawless - every so often a contract expiry or an oddball lane trips the logic and someone has to step in - but the exception workflow is straightforward and quick to handle. That single feature reduced the routine noise and let us focus on the real problem loads; it delivers tangible value for mid-market operations.

...the price is what sold me more than any flashy dashboard. We pay about $700 a month for FreightWise and, for my 20-truck fleet in the Northeast, the freight optimization trimmed our billed freight by roughly 7% in the first quarter - that covered the subscription twice over. The single consolidated billing and the automatic audit flags were the real happiness point; they caught several small overcharges in month one and cut down the back-and-forth with carriers. The interface has some rough edges, which is why I stopped at four stars, but for the money it’s worth keeping - it saves time and actually puts cash back in the operation.

Liked that FreightWise's TMS actually caught a reconsigned load and kept me updated in real time while I was rerouting off the I-5. After twenty years on West Coast lanes I'm used to ghost tracking, so that part impressed me - but then their billing system charged the broker rate to me after the paperwork changed, and it took three support tickets and a week of phone calls to get it sorted. So it's a weird mix: the visibility saved me time on the road, but the billing mess nearly cost me a week's pay.

Bottom line: FreightWise outperformed our previous TMS in the one area that was costing us time - carrier selection and tendering. The automated tender engine, paired with transparent carrier acceptance rates, cut decision time and re-tenders for our 55-truck operation. I was most pleased that dispatch no longer spends half the afternoon calling carriers to confirm loads.
