Single-truck owner-operator on the West Coast here - bulkTMS failed me when I needed it most. Mid-harvest the app froze, dropped my active load and stopped pushing alerts, so I missed a grain pickup and ate a $300 detention fee while the dispatcher was staring at a blank screen. Can't trust this on time-sensitive bulk runs; when the software quits, you're the one paying for other people's glitches.
Bottom line: their support team is the reason we stuck with bulkTMS. Had a gnarly EDI/billing problem that usually eats a day - our rep stayed on a long call, walked me through the mapping changes, and by morning our grain manifests were flowing so I didn’t have to babysit 80 trucks.
...the mobile app actually nails the weight-ticket workflow. Drivers just snap the ticket, and the app auto-fills the gross/tare fields and tags the geo/time - no more scribbled notes or missed loads. It's simple enough that after a day or two our guys were using it without asking for help, and with 75 trucks scattered across the PNW that little time-saver stacks up fast. My only gripe is upload speed: in some rural spots the photos hang on "syncing" for a long time and you have to hit retry; it doesn't break anything but it's annoying. Still, that single feature cut our paper chasing and sped up settlements, which made dispatch mornings noticeably less chaotic.
